This is next summer for me....

Photobucket

The last time I felt as though a menswear collection was MADE for me was Gucci Menswear spring 2009...I loved the colors and styling and Frankie Morello recreated that feeling for me with the Spring 2011 collection.
The duo behind Frankie Morello had a Muscle Beach Party on acid theme...that movie is actually one of my favorites you should totally look it up...I loved every bit of it..I mena I may not be a bare torso or speedo guy....but I LOVED IT.

Mastermind behind the Mayhem

Sorry for the delay in posts lovelys, but I had to get re-adjusted to being back in Baltimore. Whelp! Back to fashion! ok, so my NEW latest obsession (I know, they change like every two days) is none other than NICOLA FORMICHETTI's BLOG!

For those of you who don't know who Nicola Formichetti is, he is the mastermind behind many of the outrageous costumes that the illustrious LADY GAGA wears! A few examples of costumes they have done together are:

As you can see, Nicola is a MAGNIFICENT styist/designer. His blog is FILLED with tons of things going on in his world, a world I would kill to live in! Ok, well maybe not KILL, thats a bit too dismal, i WOULD love it very much though.
Anywhoo, he is a creative GENIUS! His work speaks volumes about his love, appreciation and understanding of ART. I encourage all to go check out his work. Its LOVE!

Mother Monster May I? Wear 9 inch heels and chaps with a train?

NO YOU MAY NOT!

Pop singer, style icon and my IDOL Lady Gaga fell today FOR THE FIRST TIME at Heathrow airport.

It seems that her heel got caught in the train connected to her chaps and caused her to have a "in natural gaga fashion" not so graceful fall.

WHO CARES?! We little monsters still ADORE your every move.

So from now on, if I ever fall in a pair of heels, i'll get up, dust myself off and yell "Who the fk cares?! EVEN LADY GAGA FALLS!

I must say, i do SINCERELY enjoy this leather and sheer ensemble I love the play on the hard vs. soft aesthetic.

Rolling Stone Gives the Goods on GAGA

Lady Gaga bares her heart — and much more — on the cover of Rolling Stone's new issue, on sale at newsstands Wednesday, June 23rd. In the most extensive interview the pop star has ever given about the breakup that inspired her transformation from Germanotta to Gaga, her complex relationship with her beloved father and the music on her next album, Lady Gaga tells contributing editor Neil Strauss art is life and not being fierce isn't an option: "When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl," she says. "Then I say, 'Bitch, you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.' "

In a backstage interview before and after one of her mammoth Monster Ball shows in England, Gaga admits she wouldn't have been as successful if she hadn't had her heart broken by her East Village boyfriend five years ago, and that "sex is certainly not, like, a priority at the moment." Her priority is, and has been, the relationship she's built with her fans. "If I were to ever, God forbid, get hurt onstage and my fans were screaming outside of the hospital, waiting for me to come out, I'd come out as Gaga," she says, adding that she models her celebrity on Michael Jackson. "Michael got burned, and he lifted that glittered glove so damn high so his fans could see him, because he was in the art of show business. That's what we do. I don't even drink water onstage in front of anybody, because I want them to focus on the fantasy of the music."

Gaga also reveals some deeply personal details for the first time, including her recurring nightmare involving a phantom and a blond girl who's tied up with ropes. "She's got my shoes on from the Grammys," Gaga says. "Go figure — psycho." When presented with the idea that her behavior indicates she's a survivor of a traumatic experience, Gaga says there are limits to what she'll discuss in public. "You have to be careful about how much you reveal to people that look up to you so much."

Despite a health scare (she currently doesn't have Lupus, but the disease runs in her family) and nonstop touring, Gaga hasn't lost her creative inspiration — she's currently finishing up her new record and designing the stage production for her next tour. Gaga plans to announce the title of her new album — due out early next year — at midnight on New Year's Eve. "I think I'm gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo," she says. "I've been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don't. I write music every day." As for the subject matter of the music, Gaga says she's moved on with writing songs about her quest for fame to crafting tunes with an angry, perhaps political bent. "Why are we still talking about 'Don't ask, don't tell'?" she says. "It's like, what fucking year is it? It makes me crazy! And I have been for three years baking cakes — and now I'm going to bake a cake that has a bitter jelly. The message of the new music is now more bitter than it was before. Because the sweeter the cake, the more bitter the jelly can be."

Valentino Resort 2011

Valentino,Resort,2011

It seems as though the design duo,Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, have gone back to the archives of the House of Valentino. The duo did a 1960's- 1970's collection for resort 2011 and I really liked it. I mean I loved what they did with everything they have done with taking the house to a younger audience but I guess they did have to think about the older women who have lived in valentino all their lives and this collection was a great balance between the two generation.
I partial to the roseette covered vest...

The new Jack by Jil

Jil Sander Menswear Spring 2011

Photos via: Style.com

As we navigate our way through mens collections its rare that you find a designer that breaks COMPLETELY from the norm. Unless your talking about Rif Simons, of course. Without a doubt, he hand delivered looks of a lifetime for his menswear collection for Jil Saunders. All I could think of was all of the lovely things I could picture in Eura's wardrobe (and even some in my own). The neon color palette made the collection vibrant and playful, yet the sharp tailoring kept it masculine and powerful. The floral sheer tops? GENIUS! This collection was love at first sight for me. Everything was so clean and I thoroughly enjoyed the bold play on androgyny (Florals on men? once again, GENIUS!). To see the entire collection, click HERE.

UPDATE

Seeing as how jada got to the Jil Sander collection before I did, which I must agree was amazing and does belong in my closet. It's odd that a mens collection ever captures my eye and yet this did and it reminds me of my favorite Jil Sander collection womenswear spring 2007 see it all HERE also here is video of the Spring 2011 mens collection

Sailing through Resort collections! Take 2

Proenza Schouler Resort 2011

Oscar De La Renta Resort 2011

Nina Ricci Resort 2011

Louis Vuitton Resort 2011

Lanvin Resort 2011

Givenchy Resort 2011

Emilio Pucci Resort 2011

Resort collections have been rocking my socks for the past week. LOVELY silhouettes, AMAZING color palettes and a VAST ARRAY of design aesthetics.
Givenchy blew me away! Season after season Riccardo Tisci blows me away! This season, he took the historical label back to its roots with beautiful tailoring, amazing sheer ensembles and a red, black and white color scheme. My favorite piece was, without a doubt, the black sheer gown with the red embroidery. ABSOLUTELY TDF(to die for)!
Lanvin was next in my list of favorite collections this season. It was almost IMPOSSIBLE to choose my favorite looks, because I loved them ALL! This collection gave me a beautiful, carefree yet somewhat demented feel. I adored the frou frou looks, the bathing suit pieces and the "tailored with a twist looks". Alber Elbaz is definitely a designer that gives me something to look forward to each and every season.
I was enveloped in Pucci's beautiful patterns! Peter Copping is one designer with a knack for lovely and definitive patterns. The colors were BEAUTIFUL and worked lovely together. I really enjoyed the cape over the swimsuit look. It has me STRONGLY considering testing that idea.
OH MARC, MY LOVELY MARC JACOBS, how you make me salivate for Louis Vuitton. It's no surprise that Marc Jacobs( Eura's obsession, by the way) delivered yet another wonderful collection. The pastel colors were absolutely BEAUTIFUL. This collection was dainty yet powerful. In my opinion, it played with the idea of androgyny yet simultaneously kept it feminine and dainty. I LOVED IT
Nina Ricci made me absolutely proud to be a girly girl. The blush tones, the lace, the ruffles, the sheer, the drapery all gave me a "girls, just want to have fun" vibe!
Oscar de la Renta had me at hello. There were so many different looks, I was never really sure what would be coming next! I enjoyed how the looks went from bubble-like and flowing, to tight and tailored and rested at bubble-like and tailored. The color palette was lovely as well.
And finally Proenza, oh my beautiful lovekins, how I adore all the mainstream rules you break. Such as mixing patterns and print and ignoring matching altogether, it gives me something to look forward to every season! I LOVE the native vibe of this collection. I most enjoyed the mixing of patterns and prints; something Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez without a doubt, have mastered. The play with textures was also something I found rather appealing. Proenza continues to deliver different and innovative pieces every season, Jack and Lazaro are a force to take with caution.
So there you have it, an analysis of more of my favorite resort collection. I also enjoyed Balenciaga's footwear (as I do every season, i'm not a big fan of their garments), Celine, Anna Sui's romantic collection, carolina Herrera's historically beautifully made gowns, Herve' Le'ger and the bandage dresses and Chloe Sevigny for OC and her daring and completely amazing looks.
