'W Magazine' is going to get an Editor In Chief... they are being separated from their parent magazine WWD they made the decision to take W into a purely trade magazine. The magazine started out as a gossip rag component to WWD...so who will be the Editor In Chief????? Well BryanBoy ( www.bryanboy.com ) noticed that the March and April issue mastheads had changed and that Andre Leon Tally was no longer labeled as Editor At Large but a contributing editor instead, But today The Cut Blog has word from a Vogue spokesperson that he only has a new title and that's only because "'he wanted to do more freelance projects" — such as ANTM. "He’ll be just as big a presence at Vogue,' and his column and blogging will remain intact." ...Oh DRATS I was kinda hoping he would be the EIC of W...but there is a larger group of people who think that Stefano Tonchi, of the New York Times Style Magazine, will take the helm of the magazine....and he may have already taken the helm.
